Bakugan is back. The Canada-Japan toy phenomenon is about to kick into its second generation with Spin Master, Nelvana, TMS Entertainment and Takara Tomy. The 100 eleven-minute episode reboot Bakugan: Battle Planet will debut on Teletoon on December 31st at 3PM, with new episodes (airing in 22-minute chunks) continuing in that slot the entire week. The series will then move into its regular 11:30AM Saturday morning slot on January 12th. If you aren’t able to watch Teletoon, YTV will also start airing reruns of Battle Planet starting January 11th at 3PM (with an encore Sundays at 9:30PM). It’ll be the first Japanese-animated series on the channel since the purge in 2014 that resulted in the removal of nearly all action programming on the channel.

The United States gets the show a week earlier, courtesy of Cartoon Network. The network will host the show’s global premiere on December 23rd at 7PM with a four eleven-minute episode marathon. The series will then run daily at 7AM before moving into its regular 7AM Saturday morning slot on January 5th. The first two episodes are now available to watch through the channel’s website and app (U.S.-only), with eight more expected to drop on V.O.D. platforms on the 21st.  Continue reading →
