Demon Slayer: Mugen Train reportedly ranks “first” at the Canadian box-office [Updated: 7/7]

With cinemas in most major Canadian cities still closed due to COVID, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train’s national release was anything but. Upon opening last month, the movie, distributed by Aniplex and Funimation, played only at Cineplex locations in the Maritimes, Newfoundland, Quebec and Saskatchewan. Across those provinces, the film managed to perform well, according to Canadian media trade publication Playback.
