Zo Zo Zombie to air on Toon-A-Vision

Toon-A-Vision will add the J.C. Staff-animated Zo Zo Zombie shorts series to its roster of shows this February. The show will debut on Monday, February 1st at 5PM. It’ll occupy a 15-minute slot next to fellow shorts series Dragamonz. They join the channel’s weekday afternoon lineup alongside other action titles like Future Card Buddyfight X, Redakai, Tenkai Knights and Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal.

An adaptation of Yasunari Nagatoshi’s CoroCoro Comic manga series of the same name, the 100 x 3-minute production was jointly created by Toronto’s Spin Master Entertainment and Japanese media conglomerate ShoPro. It debuted a year ago in Canada on Crave and on Crunchyroll. The series has since become available on a variety of platforms, including YouTube. In Japan, the shorts premiered last April as part of the Oha Suta variety program on TV Tokyo before being streamed online.

Zo Zo Zombie is the best undead friend you never had! Who else could use his own intestines as a jump rope or peel his own skin to use as a coat? Together with his best [human] friend Isamu, Zo Zo Zombie is just trying to do some good in this world but somehow always ends up in pieces. Literally.

Directed by Minoru Yamaoka, the series was co-written by Eric Trueheart and Mark Satterthwaite. While the show received a federal tax credit from the Canadian government, the English version was produced by Studiopolis in Los Angeles with an uncredited cast.

The addition to Toon-A-Vision comes courtesy of the channel’s content partnership with Spin Master Entertainment. That has previously resulted in it airing shows like Hatchimals, PAW Patrol, as well as the aforementioned Redakai and Tenkai Knights. February 1st will also see the channel add Abby Hatcher, Dragamonz and PAW Patrol shorts to its lineup.

All times listed in eastern.
