Canadian Theatrical News: Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie
Following last year’s release of Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions, 4K Media is partnering up with Cineplex to bring another of the franchise’s theatrical features to the Canadian big screen. This time it’s a blast from the past, as 2004’s Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie: The Pyramid of Light is getting a remastered re-release in April. 4K is working with Fathom Events to screen the film in the U.S. this month.
Funded by 4Kids Entertainment, the 2004 feature was originally given a traditional wide theatrical screening in North America by Warner Brothers. The film was produced by Studio Gallop, who’s worked on all Yu-Gi-Oh! animation since 2000. Hatsuki Tsuji directed the movie from a script by Junki Takegami and Masahiro Hikokubo. All three are verterans of the franchise.
Underneath the sands of Egypt, Anubis, an ancient evil spirit, has awakened. It’s up to Yugi, who defeated Anubis centuries ago, to use his skill and determination to rid the world of evil once again.
In Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie, a heroic Yugi squares off against arch rival Kaiba in an adventure even more dangerous when the imaginary monsters in their playing cards become ferociously real… and when an old evil enters the fray. Who will win this ultimate smackdown? Whether you’re a novice Duelist or a professional, you’ll want to watch and find out!
The digitally remastered version of the 2004 anime box office hit Yu-Gi-Oh! The Movie is back in theaters for a limited two day event!

Screenings will be presented with English or French audio.* The showings will include a sneak peek of the first episode from the upcoming Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS English dub. That will mark the first time the series can be legally viewed in Canada, as our nation is one of the few barred from Crunchyroll’s simulcast of the Japanese version.

*At the moment, I’m not sure if the French screening will be of the Quebec-recorded dub of the film or the one produced for France with the TV show’s voice cast.

Off topic, but do you know if Nicktoons aired Zexal to the end?
I’m far from an expert on the U.S. broadcast of that show, but it doesn’t look like it. Back then, Vortexx was still a thing. So priority was on that and when it died, Hulu.
