Ninja Kamui to debut simultaneously on Adult Swim Canada [Updated]

The Toonami original anime series Ninja Kamui will debut simultaneously on Corus Entertainment’s Adult Swim channel in Canada. Directed by Sunghoo Park (Jujutsu Kaisen, God of High School), the show will start airing weekly beginning February 10th at 12AM (effectively, February 11th). The Japan-U.S. co-production between Warner Bros. Discovery, E&H production and Sola Entertainment features original character designs by Afro Samurai’s Takashi Okazaki and a new song from Japanese band coldrain.

An explosive story of revenge, Ninja Kamui follows a former ninja clan member who is haunted by the brutal murders of his family. Meanwhile, an FBI agent and his rookie partner also work to investigate the murders and uncover a vast global conspiracy.

The series will run for 12 episodes. A video game adaptation called Ninja Kamui: Shinobi Origins will debut this spring. In the United States, episodes will be available to stream the next day on Max. Presumably, the same will be true in Canada on Global TV and Stack TV.

Adult Swim Canada previously ran anime co-productions Blade Runner: Black Lotus, Housing Complex C and FLCL Grunge/Shoegaze alongside their U.S. debuts. Fena: Pirate Princess and Shenmue: The Animation were not included in the channel’s content output agreement and subsequently did not airCorus has confirmed that Rick & Morty: The Anime and Uzumaki will also run on the Canadian Adult Swim.

Updated (2/4/2024): Corus has confirmed that Ninja Kamui’s Canadian broadcast will mirror its U.S. run. The 12 AM airing will be presented with its English dub. The English subtitled Japanese version will follow at 3AM. Both will be available to stream on Stack TV.

All times are listed in Eastern.

Thanks Cameron.

Toonami is airing both sub and dub, I hope we get both.

    • I asked Corus for confirmation and they never responded. There’s going to be a 3AM run of the show on the Canadian channel, so I’m guessing they will run both.
