Pluto TV Canada to add Naruto and Sailor Moon channels this month

Staying true to their Anime North announcement, the Canadian version of Pluto TV is set to launch its dedicated Naruto and Sailor Moon channels this month. The duo are expected to debut on December 22nd, marking the third and fourth anime-specific linear feeds on the service. Paramount highlighted the channels in their press release celebrating Pluto TV’s first anniversary in Canada:

Naruto Channel

The popular Japanese manga series, written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto, gets its own channel on Pluto TV with seasons 1-4 of the hit series available live and on demand. In Naruto, the Village Hidden in the Leaves is home to the stealthiest ninja in the land. But twelve years earlier, a fearsome Nine-tailed Fox terrorized the village before it was subdued and its spirit sealed within the body of a baby boy – Naruto Uzumaki!

Sailor Moon Channel

The legendary Japanese manga-turned-anime series Sailor Moon gets a dedicated channel on Pluto TV with Seasons 1- 5 of the original series and Sailor Moon Crystal. Usagi Tsukino is a girl who transforms into the guardian, Sailor Moon. Watch Usagi and her team of Sailor Guardians fight to protect the universe from evil every day on Pluto TV!

The U.S. version of Pluto TV has had the Naruto Channel since November 2019, while Sailor Moon’s debuted in March of this year. Both titles are streamed exclusively in Japanese with English subtitles.

The two Viz Media-distributed franchises are available on a wide variety of platforms in Canada. Among others, the original Naruto can be streamed on Crunchyroll, Netflix and Tubi TV. Though, only Netflix streams the entirety of the English-dubbed version. The various films, sequels and spinoffs have scattered availability. The original Sailor Moon series can currently only be streamed in its subtitled format on Tubi TV in Canada. The dub was previously available on Crave, but was removed in September. The Sailor Moon Crystal remake series and movies are available on Netflix in both Japanese and English dubbed formats. That show also streams subtitled on Crunchyroll and Tubi.

Pluto TV is owned and operated by Paramount Global. Corus Entertainment handles ad sales in Canada.

Thanks Jesse and Cameron.
