Canadian Theatrical News: Ultraman: Rising

Netflix is bringing the latest animated Ultraman feature to select Canadian theatres this month. The long-running tokusatsu hero stars in this standalone film produced by ILM in conjunction with Tsuburaya and the streaming service. The movie will debut on Netflix globally on June 14th.

Ultraman: Rising was directed by Shannon Tindle alongside John Aoshima. Tindle also co-wrote the film with Marc Haimes. Scot Stafford composed the score.

With Tokyo under siege from rising monster attacks, baseball star Ken Sato reluctantly returns home to take on the mantle of Ultraman. But the titanic superhero meets his match when he reluctantly adopts a 35-foot-tall, fire-breathing baby kaiju. Sato must rise above his ego to balance work and parenthood while protecting the baby from forces bent on exploiting her for their own dark plans.

The film will be screened in both English and subtitled Japanese formats starting June 14th. To purchase tickets for the English screenings, click here. To purchase tickets for the subtitled screenings, click here.
