Pokémon: Mewtwo – Prologue to Awakening and Pokémon The Movie: Genesect and the Legend Awakened premiere this Saturday on YTV
YTV’s online schedule has confirmed that the network will air Pokémon the Movie: Genesect and the Legend Awakened, as well as its prequel TV special, Pokémon: Mewtwo – Prologue to Awakening, on February 8th starting at 3:30PM EST. The duo premiered last summer on Japanese TVs, and cinemas before a brief theatrical run in October followed by a Cartoon Network broadcast last month in the US. Leading up to the special broadcast YTV will be airing the final two episodes of the Pokémon Black & White: Adventures in Unova and Beyond TV anime beginning at 2:30PM EST.
Pokémon.com describes the sixteenth feature’s plot as:
When big trouble threatens the big city, it’s up to Ash, Pikachu, and their friends to stop it!
A vast Pokémon habitat amid the hustle and bustle of the big city seems like the perfect new home for a group of five Genesect. The arrival of these Mythical Pokémon quickly becomes a problem, though: their nest threatens the city’s power supply, and they keep attacking anyone who approaches it. On top of that, they’ve attracted the attention of the Legendary Pokémon Mewtwo, who sympathizes with them because its own origins also involve human tampering. The group’s leader, known as Red Genesect, doesn’t trust Mewtwo, and their confrontation quickly rages out of control! Can Ash and friends stop these two powerful Pokémon before they destroy the city?
Neither YTV’s, nor Zap2it’s online schedules go that far, but I’d assume the Pokemon XY TV series will begin on February 15th at the show’s regular 12PM time slot.
I get the suspicion this won’t be the only monster related news YTV has for us this month …
