Pokémon: Mewtwo – Prologue to Awakening and Pokémon The Movie: Genesect and the Legend Awakened premiere this Saturday on YTV

Pokemon Movie 16 PosterYTV’s online schedule has confirmed that the network will air Pokémon the Movie: Genesect and the Legend Awakened, as well as its prequel TV special, Pokémon: Mewtwo – Prologue to Awakening, on February 8th starting at 3:30PM EST. The duo premiered last summer on Japanese TVs, and cinemas before a brief theatrical run in October followed by a Cartoon Network broadcast last month in the US. Leading up to the special broadcast YTV will be airing the final two episodes of the Pokémon Black & White: Adventures in Unova and Beyond TV anime beginning at 2:30PM EST.

Pokémon.com describes the sixteenth feature’s plot as:

When big trouble threatens the big city, it’s up to Ash, Pikachu, and their friends to stop it!

A vast Pokémon habitat amid the hustle and bustle of the big city seems like the perfect new home for a group of five Genesect. The arrival of these Mythical Pokémon quickly becomes a problem, though: their nest threatens the city’s power supply, and they keep attacking anyone who approaches it. On top of that, they’ve attracted the attention of the Legendary Pokémon Mewtwo, who sympathizes with them because its own origins also involve human tampering. The group’s leader, known as Red Genesect, doesn’t trust Mewtwo, and their confrontation quickly rages out of control! Can Ash and friends stop these two powerful Pokémon before they destroy the city?

Neither YTV’s, nor Zap2it’s online schedules go that far, but I’d assume the Pokemon XY TV series will begin on February 15th at the show’s regular 12PM time slot.

I get the suspicion this won’t be the only monster related news YTV has for us this month …

According to Zap2it, Season 17, Episode 3 (“A Battle of Aerial Mobility!”) will air on YTV on February 15. This means YTV will be only two episodes behind Cartoon Network!

  1. It’s no Bionix tribute, but I’ll take it. Strange how YTV isn’t advertising this, but I guess that means we can pin the blame on “Woodchuck Day”.

Pokemon: Genesect and the Legend Awakened premiered back in December actually. On December 7 at 4pm after the sneak peak of the first 2 XY episodes at 3pm. It seems like YTV is re-airing the movie because of the Mewtwo special. I’m also so glad that XY Episode 3 is premiering on the 15th, meaning we’ll only be 2 episodes behind!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Digimon Fusion premiering on a Monday morning is news to me though. I expected it to premiere after Bdaman Crossfire ended.

    • Oops, I wasn’t aware that it had previously aired.

According to those blogs, Fusion is set for a Friday morning broadcast. I wasn’t expecting weekday AM premieres for it on YTV.

Guys did you notice that YTV.com removed their forums?! I went to log on and noticed the “boards” option was gone. I then google searched the forum and a message shows up for every thread saying the forums were dismantled…wth? Is this permanent or did they simply blow everything that shaped the forums since early 2000’s with no regret……waw….

    • I’d assume they’re gone for good. They don’t have to devote any staff to moderating the comments, and can control their nigh-nonexistent fan feedback on social media sites. It’s a shame, but forums are kind of a dying breed.

Thats so sad. I was on the YTV forums since 2008 (when the fall of bionix started to take place). Yes, the majority of the years I spent there were dedicated to people complaining about the shitty lineup, but still…the forums had great memories. I found myself sometimes going back to the 2004/2005 threads, and it was amusing to read the stuff people talked about back then (all the inuyasha hype and all).

I completely see where you’re coming from and how forums are slowly becoming less popular, but still its almost hard to believe how there wasn’t even a warning or heads up. That way people could at least say goodbye to each other :(

(there were some interesting people that I knew for over 5 years now on the forums, we didnt even get to say our farewells)

        Whatever, Im depressed lol… :(

Sadly, we will now be a month behind. Although, when the english dub takes a break in the next 2 years, that will probably be when YTV can catch up. Or hopefully, YTV airs a marathon really soon!

A month really isn’t too bad. I remember YTV being 6 months behind for Season 14.

Just thought I’d through this in here, but the third episode of “Pokémon the Series: XY”, “A Battle of Aerial Mobility!”, had hollow audio when it aired (and re-aired) on Cartoon Network in the USA. YTV did not have this error when airing it.
